Regardless of whether you are moving the contents of a business or home one of the biggest task is the packing. When it comes to packing you can hire an expert from your chosen moving company, and they will supply the pacing materials and service and get it done professionally for an additional cost. On the other hand you could do the packing yourself. It is easy to cut corners when doing the packing yourself. This though will mean that the chances of damage to your beloved possessions will be increased. But, there are some guidelines to consider if you decide to do your own boxing and packing.First you need to make sure you acquire reasonable resources to do the job. Though it is easy and cheap to ask at the supermarkets and local grocers shops you do need to make certain the boxes are in good condition. If not using torn, crushed or weak boxes you will end up with damage to your belongings. Therefore your initial thinking of cutting costs doing your own packing will end up costing considerably more replacing your prized possessions, if you can actually replace them all. You will need a lot of boxes so don’t underestimate the amount you will need. Get as many as is possible, as you will have to bear in mind not to put too much in each of them as you have to remember to lift them.  So, just make sure you get hold of strong and sturdy boxes. Next make sure you get hold of plenty of packaging materials to protect fragile and breakables such as glass, ornaments, photo frames etc. Soft padding is used to stop items moving. The less space your contents have to move the better, as this is the main reason that breakages occur and scratches. Bubble wrap and polystyrene is the first choice and provides a good padding to reduce items getting broken on route. Newspaper is a reasonable solution to protect your belongings, but it does leave dirty print on a lot of things and probably isn’t as good as other packaging. If you do have to use newspaper it is a good idea to wear gloves when packing as the print will leave a mess on your hands. You will need plenty of other materials to make a good job of you packing. One is strong tape to seal your packed contents, and make sure you seal the boxes securely by covering all of the seams. Then you will have to label each box with the contents. A good marker pen and lots of labels are essential so you know what is in each box. Also create an inventory to list everything you pack and use it to refer to when unpacking. For ease create a colour code for each room so it makes unloading easier. For example marking boxes with green for your entire kitchen contents will mean that they can be placed in your new kitchen at your new address. Pack up one room at time and start with the ones you use the least. You can then store the packed boxes in these rooms. Packing is a big job and there is a lot to organise. Start preparations in plenty of time and have a plan to follow. If you are hiring specialists help then book early for your preferred date. Get several quotes and discuss your needs. Choose the company that offers the best services and costs to suit you. If you are doing it yourself take your time and plan it well.
